Meet William

William O’Toole

I grew up in Southern California, and at age 10, I was surfing in what was an unbelievably pristine environment. The rapid growth of California would degrade the ocean environment and it made a deep impact on me. I started a personal journey to see if economic growth always had to lead to environmental degradation. That question lead to a degree in Ecology from the University of California at San Diego and the founding of my company EcoNomics Inc. In the ensuing 40 years I have seen that economic growth can be accomplished without destroying the planet that we all call home. But, it takes a lot of creative thinking and hard work to make the vision a reality.

Remote beaches and sailing on boats to get there.

Add some bright and creative people and a bit of joy and all the things I need are right at hand.
