Trevor Blythe

I grew up Sonoma County, immersed in natural beauty and in a rural setting where we grew a lot of our own food. This connection with the natural world informed my academic pursuits and I received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara. The Environmental Studies coursework at UCSB was infused with a healthy amount of doom-and-gloom that instilled a certain degree of helplessness, so I found myself drawn towards the solid waste and recycling industry where all individuals have the agency to make minor behavior changes that can result in massive positive aggregate sustainability impacts. I continued this study of pragmatic sustainability solutions to its logical academic conclusion and received my MBA in 2014 from the Presidio School of Management, one of only two business schools in the US that thoroughly integrate sustainability into the coursework. As the Vice President and co-owner of EcoNomics, I strive to develop pragmatic and impactful sustainability solutions for our clients that are not only the right thing to do but also have a compelling business case. I have two young children and I often think about the type of world that they will inherit.  I work every day to ensure that they will inherit a healthy and abundant planet that will sustain their children for generations to come.
