Meet Clarisa

Clarisa Gomez

Hi there! I was born and raised in San Diego and moved to the OC for college. I graduated from UC Irvine with a double major in Environmental Science and Policy and Urban Studies. My interest in sustainability has taken many forms throughout the years. From learning about ecotourism in my high school biology class, to environmental justice and the food industry in my undergrad courses, to reflecting and acknowledging how my culture has practiced its own form sustainability through upcycling/repurposing items. I find the intersection between the music industry and sustainability to be quite intriguing. As an avid music lover, I believe it is crucial to place sustainability at the forefront at all large scale events to care about our planet, without having to sacrifice life experiences. Although I am at the beginning stages of my career within the waste industry, it has taught me the crucial role education and outreach play when implementing large scale projects such as SB 1383. I can’t wait to see what other sustainable work I get to do!
